Home/Areas I cover

Where I come to across Perth

Based in Beckenham, working across the Perth metro area. If the job is worth the drive I will usually do it, and I will tell you straight if travel adds to the price.

Perth metro · 8am–8pm, 7 days · Fixed price up front

I work on my own, not for a franchise with a dispatch desk. That has an obvious limitation and a less obvious advantage: I cannot be everywhere, but the person who quotes you is the person who turns up and does the work, so nothing gets lost between the booking and the job.

Roughly where I work

  • Perth CBD and the inner suburbs
  • Southern suburbs, which is my home patch, being based in Beckenham
  • Eastern suburbs and out towards the Hills
  • Northern suburbs
  • Western and coastal suburbs
  • Fremantle and the surrounding area

That list is a guide, not a boundary. The honest answer for anywhere outside it is: ring and ask. It costs you nothing to find out, and I would rather tell you no than take a booking I cannot get to properly.

How the callout works

The callout is $100, and it comes off the bill. So if I come out and do the work, you are not paying it twice. You get the price for the whole job, parts included, before I leave to come to you.

If I genuinely cannot tell what is wrong without looking at the car, I say so rather than invent a number and revise it once I have your wheels off.

Does distance change the price?

Sometimes, for the far edges of the metro area, and if it does I tell you before you commit rather than adding it to the invoice afterwards. For most of Perth it makes no difference.

Where the car actually needs to be

Anywhere I can safely work on it. In practice that means:

  • Your driveway, which is the most common by a distance
  • A work car park, if you would rather not lose an evening
  • The kerb outside your place, for most jobs
  • Wherever it has stopped, if it will not start or is not safe to drive

What I cannot do is work in a spot where the car is unsafe to lift, on a steep slope, or somewhere I would be lying in live traffic. If that is the situation, ring me and we will work out the sensible option.

Common questions

Do I need to be there?

Not always. As long as I can reach the car and you are contactable by phone if a decision comes up, plenty of jobs happen while people are at work or inside getting on with their day.

How far ahead do I need to book?

Same day is often possible if I can fit you in, particularly for a car that will not start. For a service, a day or two of notice means I turn up with the right parts already in the car.

My suburb is not on the list. Is it worth ringing?

Yes. The list above is where most of my work happens, not a fence. Tell me the suburb and the job and I will give you a straight answer.

Tell me the year, make and noise

Ring me, or fill in the job card and it lands straight in my inbox. Callout is $100 and it comes off the bill.
