Home/Logbook servicing
Logbook servicing on your driveway
The full manufacturer schedule for your car, done where it is parked, without losing a day to a dealership waiting room.
Perth metro · 8am–8pm, 7 days · Fixed price up front
A logbook service is not a generic oil change. It is the specific list of items your manufacturer requires at that particular interval, which is different at 10,000km than it is at 100,000km, and different again between models.
I do the schedule as written for your car, with parts to manufacturer specification, and I stamp the book.
This does not void your new car warranty
In Australia you are not required to service a car at the dealership that sold it to you in order to keep the manufacturer warranty. What matters is that the service is carried out to the manufacturer's schedule, using parts that meet specification, by a qualified mechanic, and that you keep the records.
That is exactly why I stamp the logbook and give you itemised receipts showing which parts went in. If a warranty claim ever comes up, those records are what you would be asked to produce.
Keep every invoice. A stamped book plus itemised receipts is the evidence that the schedule was followed. Filing them somewhere sensible costs nothing and protects you for years.
What a service typically covers
- Engine oil and oil filter to the specification your engine actually requires
- Air filter, cabin filter and fuel filter where the schedule calls for them
- Spark plugs at the correct interval for your engine
- Brake fluid, coolant and transmission fluid checks, and changes where they are due
- Belts and hoses inspected for cracking, glazing and perishing
- Brakes inspected, pad and rotor thickness measured and reported
- Tyre condition and pressures, including the spare
- A road test, and a scan for stored fault codes
Why on the driveway
A dealership service usually costs you the price of the service plus most of a working day, and often a second trip to collect the car. Doing it where the car is parked removes both. You get on with your day and the car is finished when you come back out to it.
Common questions
Do I need to be home?
Not necessarily, as long as I can get to the car and you are reachable by phone if something comes up that needs a decision.
What if you find something that is not on the schedule?
I ring you, tell you what it is and what it will cost, and you decide. Nothing extra gets done without you agreeing to it first.
Do you use genuine parts?
Parts to manufacturer specification, which is the standard the warranty requires. If you specifically want genuine branded parts, say so when you book and I will price it that way.
